MGA Rolling out COVID-19 Vaccine Plan
MGA is excited to announce that they have been working with Arizona, Colorado, and Texas with the goal to get all of its employees access to the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
The COVID-19 vaccine was officially announced by the CDC on Dec. 11, 2020, and with that, guidelines for who can get the vaccine first. It was announced that healthcare workers, along with those who reside in a long-term care facility would be among the first vaccine candidates.
With intense lobbying efforts by MGA and the homecare industry, home healthcare workers were specified in the healthcare worker designation. More information will be available as details are established.
The state of Texas has a solidified plan for vaccine rollout and MGA will be following state guidelines to have vaccination clinics in Austin and in Dallas in the respective office locations. MGA is working with Arizona and Colorado concurrently to ensure its employees get vaccinated safely and conveniently as well.
“We believe that the Pharmacy Partnership for TLC program is a fantastic resource for healthcare workers in Texas,” says Chani Feldman from MGA Homecare. This program translates into federally contracted pharmacies (eg: CVS, Walgreens, etc) going to each healthcare facility and setting up a clinic to vaccinate employees at the site.
According to Feldman, each recommended agency in Texas simply needs to sign up with the state—which MGA has already completed and confirmed. “The next step will be for the pharmacy to coordinate with us on the set up of the clinic,” she says.
MGA is staying on top of these updates daily and is in constant communication with its employees to ensure they receive the most up to date information. Keeping their employees, patients, and their families safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic is MGA’s top priority.
