Providing care to medically fragile individuals is a very rewarding experience for both the client and caregiver. No two cases are the same, and each family is given the individualized attention they need. MGA Homecare’s talented team works diligently to ensure the caregiver has the precise skills needed for care and that the families preferences are always taken into account.
This is just one of the ways that MGA ensures that proper care is provided in the home with the highest quality to the client, while at the same time, being the lowest cost to the payer.
It stands to reason when our client’s families reach out to us directly to share their feedback, we know that our efforts are truly paying dividends.
We were fortunate to have received the following recommendation from The Draper Family.
About The Draper Family
The Draper family have two special needs children, one of which is a child who has a tracheostomy and is vent dependent. The needs of this child prove to be challenging due to those unique circumstances requiring a very specific qualification level of nursing.
“As a family, they are incredibly understanding and excellent communicators in terms of their staffing,” said Austin Gray, Director of Business Development. “And, are very appreciative of the work that goes into finding nurses that can fulfill the needs of their child”
The family is very involved in the care of their sons. They are the first to work with the clinicians and show flexibility when situations arise to deliver the best possible care for their loved ones.
Email From The Draper Family
“Our family has two kiddos with special needs. One of our boys has had a trach and vent and has received nursing care from MGA since 2014. Throughout the years of interacting with MGA, it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience.
In late March/early April, during the first closures related to COVID, I was impressed by how MGA didn’t allow the pandemic to stop their nursing services. In fact, [MGA] notified our family that nothing was changing. What a relief that was!
While all families have had to adjust to new challenges during this time, our family has an extra set of challenges presented with our two kiddos. So, thank you again for your continued support throughout this difficult time.
However, this isn’t the reason for my email.
Our family had a staycation planned for July 3rd to July 10th. One of our regular nurses was going to be out of town at the same time as us, so we worked to cover as many shifts as possible. We covered all but three shifts and we asked Austin Gray, Director of Business Development – Phoenix, to try to cover those 3 shifts with fill-ins.
Unfortunately, a week before we were supposed to go on vacation, one of our regular nurses that were going to be covering a lot of the shifts, became ill and ended up making the decision to not continue to work at all. My wife, Nicole, reached out to Austin and asked if there was anything he might be able to do. He said, let me see, but it is short notice and I am not sure how much luck I will have.
I could go into great detail about the Herculean effort that Austin pulled off but suffice it to say that he covered 6-day shifts and 5-night shifts!! Absolutely incredible!!
Our family is well aware that it takes a village. We understand that it took a team effort to make the impossible happen. We interact with Austin, but are well aware that there are others, behind the scenes, that probably helped. So, our family wants to let the entire MGA family know that we are so grateful for your efforts to make our vacation possible. There truly aren’t words, but this is my attempt to try and convey my deepest gratitude.
With love and appreciation, The Draper Family”
