MGA Homecare is proud to announce the winners for Caregiver of the Year. These state winners are nominated and selected based on the positive impact they have had on the lives of their patients and employees. For the year 2021, we are celebrating our MGA Colorado winner, Amy Bourlon-Hilterbran, CNA!
Born A Helper
Amy started her healthcare profession back in 2016, over 6 years ago. She said she knew it was meant for her when she realized that “helping others is and has always been a priority in my life. Helping people live healthier and happier, with a better quality of life, is beyond rewarding.” Amy comments she believes she was born to be a helper.
Since becoming a certified nursing aide (CNA) and joining the MGA team 6 years ago, she shares that “without a doubt, it is the feeling of family that I get from MGA. We aren’t just a team; we are a family and I feel that every day. MGA is a class act; with the tools and advancements, I need to be the best CNA I can be!” She is proud to be a part of an incredible organization filled with amazing people.
The CNA Experience
Since becoming a CNA, Amy shares that there have been moments she will never forget, especially moments from MGA Homecare. “Truly, my most memorable experience as a CNA, as a person, was when I was told that I had been chosen as the 2021 MGA Caregiver of the Year. I have not had many surprises in my life, and the MGA family made this moment incredible! Thoughtful things that made me feel so special, like tacos, things that are very “Amy”. I felt honored, celebrated, and very special. I will cherish it forever!”
However, Amy comments that being a CNA comes with the responsibility to be there for each patient and ensure you are providing the best care possible. One thing she has learned has been “the vital importance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS).” She stresses the importance for others to learn and practice it!
When Amy has time away from her MGA family she enjoys participating in various activities in her community and with her family. This can include “community service, coaching our kids’ teams, jamming with Austin, and immersing myself with art, literature, and music!”
Testimonials
Our patients and employees are proud to have nominated Amy for Caregiver of the Year. Below, they shared with us their positive thoughts and experiences for her!
“I would like to nominate Amy Bourlon-Hilterbran, CNA at MGA. Not only is she a thoughtful and compassionate professional, but she is incredibly supportive to other employees at the company. Recently, a fellow MGA CNA lost her daughter and Amy helped to organize the memorial services and provide food to the family. She was very caring and compassionate during this time of grief. She helped the family set up the funeral, gave the Eulogy at the service, and has been very supportive to the family after the loss. Amy’s generosity and kindness are part of who she is. If someone needs help, she is the first one to offer it – usually without them asking. She is supportive and understanding and does things to do good, but they definitely make MGA look good. Amy is a proud “MGA’er” and constantly recruits quality people to come to work for our team.”
MGA Homecare is honored to have a caring, hardworking individual like Amy on our team!
