At MGA Homecare, we are proud to recognize the caregivers who go above and beyond every single day. This year, we’re honored to celebrate Doris, our 2024 Caregiver of the Year – Nurse, whose dedication, compassion, and service embody the heart of what we do.

A Nurse’s Calling
With over 20 years of experience as an LPN, Doris brings a deep well of wisdom and compassion to her work. For the past two years with MGA, she’s made a remarkable impact—not just through the clinical care she provides, but in the way she uplifts the families and patients she serves.

“Nursing, for me, is more than a profession—it is a journey where I learn continuously about life-changing events and miracles,” Doris shares. “When you’re a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours.”

Why MGA?
Doris chose MGA Homecare because of the shared values and supportive environment. “Everyone is respectful. I get to work with amazing staff and coworkers who put the patient first. That’s something I’m deeply passionate about,” she explains.

Working at MGA has also influenced her outlook on nursing in powerful ways. “I’ve never worked with a company that understands the needs of their staff the way MGA does,” she adds. “It’s changed how I approach nursing and made me want to grow even more.”

Beyond the Scrubs
Outside of her incredible work as a nurse, Doris finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loves cooking and spending quality time with her family—whether it’s over a good meal, playing games, or watching a movie. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and listening to Christian music, which she calls a fun and uplifting part of her personal life that not many people know about.

A Heart for Care
From helping her grandmother as a child to developing into a confident, compassionate professional, Doris’s journey into nursing has always been rooted in empathy. “Nursing is a profession of integrity and compassion. A good nurse is caring, sensitive, kind, and respectful—and I strive to live up to those values every day.”
